Hi, I’m Tyrone. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and encourage you to see healing and transformation.
My Journey To Becoming A Counselor
I have battled with my own emotional and mental health problems. My struggles are what helped empower me with the ability to identify with other people’s pain.
I initially went back to school for counseling to help people in need but ignored my struggles. By doing so, I was keeping my own shield up. I went to therapy, and I started to love my true self with all my imperfections. I accepted vulnerability as a strength and now embrace it in my work with clients.
My life experiences are what led me to become the Counselor I am today.
Helping People Is What I Look Forward To Every Day
Being a Counselor is rewarding. I love guiding people towards positive changes and seeing them finally getting the life they desire. The most rewarding thing about being a Counselor is giving hope when people feel hopeless.
I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation.
I Have Empathy For Others And Bring An Open, Non-judgmental Presence To Sessions
I have a natural ability to:
- Help people identify what they are feeling
- Uncover what’s under the surface
- Explain mental health symptoms in an easy to understand way
- Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances
People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can be fully present for people’s stories, even if they are difficult.
Our Sessions Are Focused On You
Sessions will provide you with the space to express your thoughts and feelings. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to be understood and heard and focus on yourself without feeling selfish.
It’s important to me to create safety within the session and ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
As A Counselor, I Embrace The Following Philosophies
I believe that you deserve to feel better
I believe that there is no shame in asking for help
I believe that survivors are not what happened to them
I believe that you are strong enough to be present with what you may be going through
I believe that sometimes small steps in the right direction end up being the biggest steps in the end
